Greetings from William & Grace at Dagoretti Corner.

The cold weather has driven antelopes out of the national parks, and as a result lions have been travelling further afield in pursuit of food. Last week six lions were caught and killed by villagers after straying into a village and eating too many goats and trying to eat a man.

At Elyon High School the new headmaster Daniel Otieno has been working the teachers hard, and this month we have increased salaries by around 20% to match the going rates, which range from $155 to $295 per month. The school had its mid-term break last weekend, one week earlier than normal so that it can be ready to receive guests from Syndal Baptist Church next weekend.

We are currently working on a strategy to keep the classrooms in the Dagoretti Corner Primary School in good condition. The floors have been stained by recent floods, and many of the desks are missing, presumed stolen.

Fenny, a Form 3 student from Elyon High School is currently staying with us, as are her older brother and younger sister. Their mother is undergoing treatment for a chronic illness.
