News from the Corner

Greetings from William & Grace at Dagoretti Corner.

Dear <<First Name>>,

Happy Christmas to our friends around the world. Thank you so much for your prayers and support this year.

There was a bomb blast yesterday evening as passengers queued to board the bus from Nairobi to Kampala in Uganda. It is believed that Al Quaeda terrorists intended to detonate the bomb in Uganda (in retaliation for Uganda's peace-keeping efforts in Somalia), but the bomb went off by accident. Two people were killed and numerous others injured. Some ladies from Uganda who were visiting us had caught the same bus only the day before.

Tobias, the headmaster of the Dagoretti Corner Primary School, has returned to hospital and been given a blood transfusion. He is very thin and appears to have a serious medical condition. Jeremiah, another church member, who is a drummer, is suffering from kidney failure and has incurred large expenses in dialysis. Potential kidney donors have so far been rejected as non-matching; another donor is currently being analysed.

We plan to start moving into our new house on Thursday, and hope to be able to celebrate Christmas there. It will take some time for electricity to be connected, so we will initially be using a generator for power. Thank you so much to all who have contributed to the costs. The new house is a huge encouragement to us and will provide an enormous boost to our ministry.

Please Pray For:

  • Safety through the Christmas period
  • Tobias and Jeremiah as they undergo treatment for their illnesses
  • Wangui, an elderly lady who is in constant need of funds for medical treatment
  • Julie, whom we mentioned in last week's newsletter, as we try to arrange a medical examination for her
  • Our transition into the new house

We hope to send news from Dagoretti Corner at least once a month. Please use the links below if you would like to change your subscription, and please feel free to invite others to subscribe.
