News from the Corner

Greetings from William & Grace at Dagoretti Corner.

Dear <<First Name>>,

Some farmers in Kenya are harvesting bumper maize crops following good rains, but others are still suffering famine due to flood damage. Unfortunately, transport infrastructure is poor, so the cost of purchasing food is high, and subsistence farmers whose crops have failed cannot afford the high prices.

Grace's father is unwell again, and due to be taken to hospital today. Grace's mother is also feeling unwell. Both have suffered because of the famine, and the floods have washed away much of their crops.

There is plenty of activity in Nairobi as people purchase things for Christmas. We have delayed handing out the Christmas boxes (containing food and other household necessities) until Christmas Day, in order to make sure we are helping those with the greatest need and also to make sure that Christmas Day is a special day for the recipients. Many thanks to all who have contributed money to make this possible.

Today we are holding an end-of-year party for slum pastors. We will get together to review the past year and plan for 2012.

Please Pray For:

  • Good Christmas celebrations, and the recipients of our Christmas boxes
  • Grace's parents who are unwell
  • Security from the threat of al Shabaab attacks during the Christmas season
  • Travel safety as many people are on the roads at this time
